Download Festival

On the 12th of July 2011 it was confirmed via Twitter, and the Download Website that the festival will return in 2012 between the dates of 8th-10 June. Limited Early Bird tickets were put on sale on the 15th of July. It will be the 10th edition of the festival. It was announced on November 10th via BBC Radio 1 that Metallica would headline the main stage on the Saturday and also that they would be playing their self titled album in its entirety. The next day Black Sabbath were announced to headline the main stage on the 10th of June, closing the festival.

On 18 November, The Prodigy was announced as the headliner for Friday 8 June. On January 16th 2012, Soundgarden, Chase and Status, Biffy Clyro, You Me at Six and Tenacious D were also confirmed for the festival, with Machine Head, Trivium, Lamb of God, Devin Townsend Project, DevilDriver, Little Angels, Anthrax, Ugly Kid Joe and August Burns Red announced a few hours later.

For those of you who don't know, the Download Festival is a three day rock music festival held annually at Donington Park, England (which hosted Monsters of Rock between 1980 and 1996, and 2002's Ozzfest). It usually takes place in June (although in 2003, the first day of the festival took place on the last day of May).

  3. for some reason I didn't think tenacious d was going to stay around.... anyway in response to your comment I'm in Flint MI, formerly the deadliest city in america possibly the world for several years running however now that it's population is under 100k it's no longer counted at all for anything and we've lost almost all our government funding to do anything about crime
which is pretty bad considering end of 2011 we had nearly twice as many murders as 2010 in which we were still considered the deadliest city in america, and as of this month so far we're already on a track to destroy that record with 3x as many murders already reported for the month of january than last year, and we've still got two days to go
