Wireless Festival 2012

Where are my festival lovers? I know, i know... Long time no posts... There were some snowstorms here, then I got lazy... But no excuses, I'm sorry...
Anyway I wanna present you the Wireless Festival. Its the music festival held in  Hyde Park, London. Originally sponsored by  O2, it was called the  O2 Wireless Festival (from 2005. to 2008.), but then, their main sponsor became Barclaycard, hence Barclaycard Wireless Festival. The first festival took place in summer 2005. It was a 4 day madness with headliners like New Order, Moby, Hard-Fi, Basement Jaxx, Keane, Kasabian... In 2006, the festival played in both Hyde Park and Harewood House. Do I have to say The Strokes, David Gray, Massive Attack, James Blunt and Depeche Mode? Do I really? The ´07. and ´08. were also great according to my secret sources (smiley goes here).
The 2009 festival was sponsored by Barclaycard and was cut from four to two days in Hyde Park. This is where decrees in popularity began. Anyway, ´10. ´11. were better with adding one more day to festival.
As far as Wireless Festival 2012 is concerned,  it will be held from July 6th to July 8th. Confirmed to play are Drake, Example, Wiz Khalifa, Professor Green, Rihanna, Jessie J, Calvin Harris, Labrinth, J. Cole, Rizzle Kicks, Kaskade, Flux Pavilion.

You can find more info here.

V Festival 2012

Hey there festival lovers! I know what you thinking. V Festival? More like sausage fest! Well probably that's not what you are thinking... I don't know why i wrote that... Anyway, I wanna present you this fine festival. Actually its now that fine, but Ill get to it.
V Festival is annual two-day outdoor festival held in England. Artists perform on two sites during the penultimate weekend in August. Hylands Park in Chelmsford and Weston Park in South Staffordshir. Originally founded by  Pulp's front man Jarvis Cocker, it was a rock festival. Now days its full of commercial crap. Nevertheless, it got more than few  big names performing: Mel C, Dido, N.E.R.D, Razorlight, Faithless, Kaiser Chiefs and so on...
V Festival has been around since 1996. V stands for Virgin group (like it matters). In recent years festival got some negative criticism, about which you can read more here.

All additional info you can find here.

Rock am Ring 2012

Hey there metal-heads! Well, punk, rock and metal-heads! I present you Rock am Ring! Isn't that a hell of a festival?! Rock am Ring (Rock at the Ring would be the translation) and Rock im Park (Rock in the Park obviously) are two simultaneous music festivals held in Germany.
Both festivals usually have the same lineups so they are regarded as same festival. Rock am Ring takes place in Nürburgring racetrack in the west of Germany, and Rock im Park is held around the Frankenstadion  in Nuremberg, in the south of Germany.
The first Rock am Ring (1985.) was originally a one time festival, but due to commercial success it grew into annual one. Rock im Park was first held in Vienna in 1993, then moved its location a few times until it finally settled in  Nuremberg. Together they are the largest music festivals in Germany and one of the largest in the world with a combined attendance of just over 150,000 people in 2007!!!
Fun fact from Wikipedia: "The 2007 festival was used in a science experiment to test the effects of large bodies of people simultaneously jumping. The experiment data was used to calculate the result if the entire Chinese population were to jump in unison. The experiment concluded no significant results would come from the theoretical event."

All additional info as well as line up for this year you can find here.
